Prom-fumes?

*Current Fragrance: Flora by Gucci
*Currently Listening: Kathie Lee & Hoda recapping "The Voice"

Today was supposed to be Scenting Glee: Part 4, but I've been a tad preoccupied with cleaning the apartment, so that's just not going to happen. Plus, I still have enough time to scent the remaining 8 characters that I want to scent before the season comes to a close. If you want to read parts 1-3 of Scenting Glee, follow thing little link road: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. Since tonight is the Prom episode for the season of Glee, I thought I'd dial into a little self deprecating humor and post a picture of myself heading to Prom.....

Can you say matchy-matchy?
I honestly don't remember what perfume I wore to prom, nor do I even have an opinion on what I think would BE appropriate perfumes for high school aged young ladies to wear to prom. So it open it up to YOU dear readers: 1) what perfume would you have spritzed on me given my prom attire and 2) what perfumes do you think are prom-propriate? Please comment below. :o)

  1. Wooow, you already looked so grown-up by prom! Majorly jealous. In the spirit of your matchy-matchiness, how about L'Heure Bleue?

I wore New Haarlem to my prom. I didn't have a great time (picked the wrong date), but I smelled great!

    1. Thanks! That was actually when I went as a Freshman....I was dating a Junior. L'Heure Bleue would have been lovely, but not totally sure I would have appreciated it at the time.

With all the coffee in New Haarlem, I'm sure you didn't feel like dozing off! :o)

  2. From your picture, I would say something a tad bit retro, floral, glamorous, popular. I'm thinking the original Jessica McClintock or Poison. Maybe the original Oscar (or the new Esprit, too, why not)?

I feel like perfumes that the ones I mentioned are very prom-worthy. I don't remember for sure, but I likely wore Oscar to my proms. However, I'm guessing today more girls are wearing Taylor Swift and the Marc Jacobs perfumes... although, perhaps some of those celeb perfumes skew even younger than prom age? Not sure.

    1. Jessica McClintock!!!!! I think I may have actually been wearing a Jessica McClintock dress. I do remember it was from Dillards. Which was about as nice as I could get in the area w/out driving two hours.

I'm sure most proms now just smell like pink and sugar, and some Pink Sugar...but I dare not do the leg work to find it out. :-)

    2. I actually think Jessica McClintock perfume is rather nice! Much, much better than pink and sugar. Eleventy times better, even. I remember trying on Jessica McClintock dresses, at Dillard's, with a friend for prom... It may have been my freshman or sophomore year... my best friend went all four years to prom because she always had a date. I had to wait until junior year! I am pretty sure I got both of my dresses at a local bridal shop in the end.

    3. I went all but Sophomore year. Freshman year was the only year I wore color. Junior year was a black semi-beaded dress from the an area bridal shop (ironically enough where my husband's tux for our wedding was rented from), and Senior year was this black pants onesy thing w/ a tux-esque jacket from Bealle's I think. I was SO OVER HS at that point.
